An 18k red gold, ruby, and diamond bird brooch

Designed as a bird of paradise perching on a branch, fully set with rose-cut diamonds and tiny rubies. The original brooch findings removable. In a fitted leather case monogrammed "M.R.", the silk lining stamped "Joaillier Roman Marseille". Hallmarks: Paris gold guarantee (Tardy 161), fragmentary maker's mark "F" with a sword in a standing rhombus. L 7.5 cm. Weight 20.68 g.
