A good, partly stained ivory netsuke of a seated shishi dancer. Early 19th century

Seated and wearing trousers and a jacket with a star pattern, the boy is about to lift a large shishi mask above his head, the mask cloth with an attached bushy tail and engraved with hair tufts. One eye pupil of the mask of black horn.
