An amusing Kyoto school ivory netsuke of Hotei and a karako. Around 1800

Seated hirsute in a wide robe and with huge earlobes, Hotei holds on to the karako in front of him, who is pulling out hairs from Hotei’s sprouting beard with a pair of tweezers. The hair tufts of black horn.
