A Kyoto school ivory netsuke of a shishimai mask. Early 19th century

The large head with bulging eyes and flat nose is carved all over with tufts and locks of hair, the lower jaw opening downward to reveal a tongue and an upper and lower row of teeth. Inscribed Tomotada.
