A very fine ivory netsuke of a rat on a candle. Early 19th century

Climbing over one end of a candle with one forepaw slightly raised, the further end of the candle has already been nibbled at to the wick. The eyes of black horn, the burnt tip of the wick of brown wood.
Height 2.8 cm; length 7 cm
