An excellent Edo school boxwood netsuke of a portly Kan’u, by Minkoku. First half 19th century
The bearded Chinese general stands proudly holding his halberd, his robe with a cloud pattern held in place by an ornate belt covering his intricately rendered armour, the right sleeve hanging loose exposing the shoulder armour. Signed Minkoku in an oval reserve.
