An amusing wood netsuke of an oni and Shôki, by Chikusai. Second half 19th century

A long-haired oni wearing a tiger skin loincloth crawls over a large basket and looks down through two holes at Shôki who lies prostrate underneath, his sword piercing the basket. The buttons of black horn, the oni’s horns of bone (possibly replaced).
