Adolf Lazi - biography

Following his training as a sculptor and painter and first years working in Munich, Adolf Lazi moved to Paris, where he took up a position in the studio of Paul Nadar. At the outbreak of WWI, Lazi had to leave France and moved to the Black Forest, where he founded his own photo studio. From then on he worked as an industry, portrait and advertising photographer, interrupted only by the Second World War. He received commissions from numerous large-scale German companies, such as Bosch and Daimler-Benz. In 1950 he founded the "Internationale Schule für Höhere Fotografie - Lazi" (International School of Higher Photography) in Stuttgart. Adolf Lazi is one of the most prominent representatives of New Objectivist photography in the 1920s and 1930s in Germany.
