This large self-portrait was created in 1972 under a project called “VIPs at Documenta 5”, which Neusüss realised with the help of two art students. While the exhibition was in progress, Neusüss covered the walls of the pedestrian subway between the Fridericianum and the Neue Galerie in Kassel with life-size photographs of Documenta artists and visitors.
