bronze sculpture H. 4,8 cm. Gabler nennt "3 Güsse zu Lebzeiten und wenige - Mit dunkelbrauner, stellenweise grünlich oxydierter Patina. - Der Sockel geringfügig stellenweise bestossen.

Originally designed as a door handle with a varied counterpart (Gabler 126) for the picture gallery of the newly built state museum of Hesse, Darmstadt. There are documented casts in Darmstadt, as mentioned, in the museum of visual arts in Leipzig and, according to references, possibly in the possession of Alfred Messel, the architect, and of Tilla Durieux (an exemplar dedicated to her).
