A Flemish carved oak relief of the Adoration of the Magi, circa 1525/1535
Partially freestanding figures in relief, the backs flattened and hollowed out. Minimal remains of older polychromy. Group comprised of four individual pierced high relief figures. The flattened areas on the backs of the carvings indicate a former arrangement in the compartment of an altarpiece depicting the Life of Christ.
