A Mechelen alabaster relief of the Virgin and Child, circa 1600

With remains of the original parcel gilding. This finely carved relief depicts the crowned Virgin standing on a crescent moon and surrounded by a rosary holding the nude Christ Child in Her hands. The figures stand against a cloudy sky and the corners are decorated with angels' heads.
Some minor hairline cracks, losses to the plinth. In a wooden frame, presumably of the period. 12.5 x 10 cm (without frame), 22.5 x 20 cm (with frame).
