Oil on canvas 95.7 x 65.7 cm Framed. Signed 'L.Bösken' lower left. On the reverse dated and inscribed 'Für meinen lieben Kollegen Kurt Wollheim Der Traumreiter 1922' (For my dear colleague Kurt Wollheim The Dream Rider 1922). - Very good condition with fresh colours.

Between 1919 and 1933, after having studied in Krefeld under Jan Thorn-Prikker and at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, Lorenz Bösken belonged to a group of artists participating in exhibitions of the artist association "Das Junge Rheinland" and the Rheinische Sezession. In 1933, he was banned from exhibiting and in 1943 part of his studio was destroyed by bombs.
