This piece was bought in 1987 as an authentic work by Jean Etienne Liotard, but has since been removed from the catalogue raisonné. Roethlisberger / Loche mention a comparable painting in the Springfield MA Museum of Fine Art (inv. 61.17) also by an unknown artist of the same time.
