Pencil drawing on thin, smooth paper, backed with thin Japan paper 47.7 x 64.5 cm Framed under glass. Signed and dated 'DIX 1922' lower right. - Slightly browned and with minor foxing throughout.

Lorenz dates this drawing to the early 1920s, stylistically a period of "smooth transition" toward a New Objectivist nude. “The model's become younger. They generally represent a highly feminine, sensuously beautiful ideal highly suited to the New Objectivist style of drawing.” (Ulrike Lorenz, Vielfalt der Phänomene - Akt-Realismus: Auf dem Weg zur Neuen Sachlichkeit [1922/23], in: Otto Dix, Das Werkverzeichnis der Zeichnungen und Pastelle, vol.
