Oil on painter's board 60 x 80.3 cm Framed. Monogrammed and dated 't 1952' lower left. Dated, titled, and with the artist's address 'MATERIALPRÜFUNGSAMT DAHLEM 1952 AUGUST TSCHINKEL B. LICHTERFELDE KARWENDELSTR. 60' to the reverse. - With single retouches to the utmost side edges and to the upper part of the painting. Professionally cleaned.

The painter and graphic artist Augustin Tschinkel studied at the Prague Art Academy in the early 1920s, since 1928 he belonged to the artists group "Kölner Progressive". He was in close contact to Franz Wilhelm Seiwert and, in 1934, was also a co-author of a monograph on the artist.
