An ivory and wood netsuke of Kiyohime hiding inside the Dôjôji bell, by Keikoku. Late 19th century

Kiyohime with the face of a hannya sits inside the Dôjôji bell, tearing her hair and holding a striker. The handle carved separately. The eye pupils of brass. Signed Higashi Keikoku with kaô.
Height 4.7 cm

Higashi (Azuma) Keikoku is an artist only recorded by Ueda Reikichi.
