Ca. 1840.

Niccolò Paganini (1728 - 1840) played his first concert in Berlin on 4th March 1829. No artist performing at the opera house before him had illicited such a euphoric response in his audience. François Prume (1816 - 1849) was one of the most famous violinists in Belgium. He held a professorship at the Liège Conservatorium for 17 years, played together with Franz Liszt, and received the honorary title "Court virtuoso of the Duke of Gotha".
