A pair of Baroque brass candlesticks.

Cast in two pieces and screwed together. After a design for silver. Monogrammed "FWR" to the underside, dated 1789. With an unidentified stamped mark. H 19 cm.
Possibly Nuremberg, 1st quarter 18th C.

In the year of the French Revolution, the candlesticks were finely engraved with the monogramm of the Prussian King Wilhelm II who had reigned since 1786. The pieces may have been a royal gift.
