A German 14k gold, silver and Oriental pearl sautoir.

A flexible chain of natural seed pearls with a rose diamond set clasp. Two natural baroque droplet form pearls (ca. 19.2 x 13.1 x 11 mm and ca. 21 x 12.7 x 10.5 mm) in diamond settings can be hung from the chain via platinum hooks. The connecting clasp geometrically set with rose and two old-cut diamonds (in total ca. 0.20 ct). L of chain 65 cm. Clip 0.9 x 1.7 cm. Total weight 26.3 g.

Certification no. 81735 dated 27.2.2015 by Elisabeth Strack, Gemmologisches Institut Hamburg, confirms the pearls to be of natural marine origin.

Provenance

Formerly Margaret von Guilleaume, Hannover. - Henceforth in family ownership.
Margret von Guilleaume (Cologne 1895 - Hannover 1967), was the daughter of the Cologne Councillor of Commerce Max von Guilleaume, and married Otto von Campe on 26th August 1920. This sautoir may have been made for this occasion using older pearl droplets.
