A small Meissen porcelain model of a bird's nest.

With mixed decor. Described in Kaendler's workshop records as "1 canary bird's nest with three chicks and an unhatched egg, the older canary sitting on the nest feeding its young". Unglazed underside with faint blue crossed swords mark. The ends of two of the bird's beaks and several small branches broken. H 9.5 cm.
Modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler in January 1733, formed and decorated around this time.
