A Frankenthal porcelain figure of a print-seller.

From the "cris de Paris" series. A rare model with an additional print under his arm. Underglaze blue CT mark with electoral crown with "B" beneath, gold painters mark "71", additional incised mark Jh (ligatured) S and 3. Restored, the carrying strap lost. H 17.8 cm.
Ca. 1765, modelled by Johann Friedrich Lück, ca. 1762.

This figure was made in the Meissen, Höchst and Frankenthal manufactories and is based on a drawing by Edmé Bouchardon and a series of engravings by Caylus completed thereafter.
