According to Titus Felixmüller, the person depicted in the portrait is Her Excellency von Haugk, the mother-in-law of Mo von Haugk. The von Haugks belonged to Felixmüllers' longtime sponsors who supported him repeatedly. During National Socialism they organised numerous portrait commissions for him so he could keep his head above water. Despite Felixmüller himself not being Jewish, he was still persecuted by the National Socialists due to his political activities.
