'Whether with his few 'still lifes' from the mid-70s alongside the 'Heads', or the first 'Marionettes' around 1980 - he is always concerned with cultivating the garden of purely abstract, gestural painting with which, in the spirit and senses of moving poetry, he is able to translate everything - that is, the totality of the world and life experience - into pure contemplation. Or to look at it another way, the artistic analysis of the still life of things is an inportant instrument. Because indeed, to bring 'something dead' to life by means of unbound paining so that also in a fruit, a bowl, a jug - as in Cézanne's 'Natures mortes' or Morandi's vessels - the drama of humankind between love and death, longing and happiness, between hoping and transience can be made visible by the moving experience of the senses'.
