A small, rare Meissen porcelain model of a pheasant. The beak and tail reattached, some wheat sheaves restored. H 17.3 cm.
Ca. 1745 - 50, the model attributed to Johann Joachim Kaendler.

This model was attributed to Kaendler when it was listed by Albiker, but only the lifesize models made in 1735 for the royal menagerie are recorded as his creations.

Provenance

Belgian aristocratic ownership.
