A presumably Flemish carved alabaster figure of the Virgin Immaculata, circa 1700.

Carved in the round, the reverse only summarily.. A group of the Virgin and Child with the infant John the Baptist to the right designed for a frontal viewpoint. The Virgin is depicted treading a dragon underfoot and piercing its head with a (replaced, modern) lance in a representation of Her victory over original sin.
Minimal wear. Height 45 cm.
