The Sidi Mahrez mosque, also known as Mohamed Bey El Mouradi mosque, is a building in Tunis, built at the end of the 17th century, which determines the view of the old city with its characteristic dome silouette. Louis Moilliet began travelling through Tunisia in 1908. After the famous Tunis journey together with August Macke and Paul Klee in 1914, Moilliet worked in North Africa on numerous occasions during the 1920s and created many light-flooded watercolours there defined by cubic forms.
