A rare Wegely model of an officer on horseback

Blue W mark, incised 2/90/3. Several restorations to the extremities. H 16.5 cm.
Berlin, Wilhelm Caspar Wegely manufactory, 1751 - 1757.

Only a few models of this rare and confidently modelled Wegely manufactory design are known to exist. Gisela Zick mentions three further examples, one kept in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and another in the Berlin Schlossmuseum which was destroyed in the war.
