A Potsdam silver ewer made for Crown Prince Maximilian of Saxony. Monogrammed "M" beneath the Saxon royal crown to the body. Marks presumably of Christian Friedrich Müller, ca. 1770.

H 19 cm. Weight: 295 g.

Crown Prince Maximilian (1759 - 1838) relinquished his right to the throne in 1830 in favour of his son Frederick Augustus II. Until his official succession in 1836, Maximilian used a simple M beneath the Saxon crown as his monogram.
