An ormolu-mounted porcelain box belonging to Marie von Sachsen-Altenburg

Painted to the lid with views of Schloss Altenburg and throughout with further representative buildings in Altenburg. The ducal crown adorns the gilt lace border. No visible marks. With an inventory label to the underside "Eigenthum Ihrer Königl. Hoheit der Frau Prinzessin Albrecht v. Preußen etc., Herzogin zu Sachsen. Lfd. Nr. 43. Abth. V. Nr. der Abth. 27." W 18; D 12; H 10 cm.
Presumably Thuringia, ca. 1875.

According to the inventory label, this box was formerly owned by Marie Friederike von Sachsen-Altenburg (1854 - 1898), daughter of Duke Ernst I of Saxony-Altenburg, who married Prince Albrecht of Prussia (1837 - 1906) in 1873.
