An oval Berlin KPM porcelain tureen made for Diede zu Fürstenstein

Decorated with roses in relief and painted flower bouquets in the typical early polychromy. The tureen with blue sceptre mark to the interior, the presentoir with blue sceptre mark and impressed K 2. L of presentoir 39 cm; H tureen 15.5 cm.
1767.

The accompanying letter from 1947 confirms that the tureen was purchased by Anton Huwyler of Lucerne from Charles Foerster, who had received it from the collection of the Berlin Schlossmuseum in 1933. The freelance art historian Charles Foerster (1883 - 1943) was a member of the advisory board of the Kupferstichkabinett, the Schlossmuseum and Skulpturenabteilung.
