A Berlin KPM porcelain platter from the 2nd Potsdam service

The central bouquet in subtle polychromy, the border decorated with gilt rocailles and fluting on sea-green ground. Blue sceptre mark and impressed 200 II. Minor wear to the gilt dentile rim. Diameter 32 cm.

Frederick II began placing orders for dinner services shortly after acquiring the Berlin porcelain manufactory. The 1st and 2nd Potsdam services were specially designed to suit the decor of the Neues Palais.
