A North Italian stone figure of the Virgin with Child, circa 1500

Carved in the round. With partially overpainted older polychromy. A half-length figure of the Virgin with Child designed for a frontal viewpoint. She wears a brown dress beneath a blue and gold cloak and holds the Christ Child, draped in a cloth, in both hands over Her hip.
With restored breakages between the Virgin and Child and to the Virgin's back. Minor wear. Height 29.5 cm.
