Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel was an architect and building officer for the grand duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. As a pupil of the Berlin Building Academy and employee of Karl Friedrich Schinkel, he exerted a significant influence on the neogothic and neoclassical style of architecture in the duchy.
