Vintage hand tinted gelatin silver print. 8.6 x 22.5 cm. Stamp of Adolf Behne as well as annotated in unknown hands in pencil, crayon and ink on the verso. - Matted.

Architect: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

The Berlin-based architectural critic Adolf Behne (1885 - 1948) was one of the most important proponents of the "Neues Bauen" movement. His widely renowned works Der moderne Zweckbau (1926), Neues Wohnen - Neues Bauen (1927) and Eine Stunde Architektur (1928) were highly influential in the dissemination of the formal canon of the International Style.
