A Meissen porcelain tureen with a hippocamp finial

An opulent oval tureen with trompe l'oeil handles; decorated with three large hunting scenes and flowers after woodcut designs. Indistinct blue crossed swords mark to the unglazed underside, impressed number 7, inventory number(?) in ink. The hippocamp restored. H 32, W 38.4 cm.
After 1740, the decor attributed to Franz Ferdinand Mayer aus Pressnitz/Prísecnice, ca. 1750 - 60.
