We would like to thank Linda Wolk-Simon for attributing these three drawings to the sculptor and architect Guglielmo della Porta. He moved to Rome in 1537, where he became a pupil of Michelangelo. Della Porta frequently carved reliefs, and the present work could be a composition sketch for one of these.
