A carved wood group of mourners from a crucifixion scene, probably Flemish, late 15th century

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. Older, partially retouched polychromy.. The fainting Virgin is shown supported by Mary Magdalene and St. John, who turns around, indicating that the depiction of Christ on the cross was originally located to the right of this group.
The Virgin's hands lacking. Minimal wear. Height 61 cm..
