A hanging scroll in the manner of Nagasawa Rôsetsu (1754-1799), depicting Taishun, one of the paragons of filial piety, with an elephant which helps him to plough the fields and a sparrow which carries away the seeds of weeds. Ink and light colours on silk. Inscribed Rôsetsu and sealed Gyo. Inscribed wooden box, dated inside the lid Bunka 4 (1807).
