A Berlin KPM porcelain plate and fruit platter made for the Krupp family

Decorated with painterly apples and grapes bordered by stylised flowerheads and tendrils. Blue sceptre mark, red imperial orb mark, painter's and impressed marks. W plate 42, diameter of platter 21.2 cm.
The decor design by Adolph Flad, 1912, perhaps a later order and delivery from the second quarter of the 20th C.

The Krupp family from Bohlen and Halbach in Essen ordered an extensive table service in 1912 on occasion of the 100 year anniversary of their family firm, which coincided with the 100th birthday of Alfried Krupp. The decor by Adolph Flad is based on that of the so-called "Bandschleifen" service from 1894.
