A Berlin KPM porcelain Ceres vase

Model no. 18230. Blue sceptre mark. H 25 cm.
After a design by Siegmund Schütz, ca. 1951, formed shortly after.

Alongside Trude Petri, Siegmund Schütz was the most important form designer at KPM from 1935 - 1970. He was particularly well-known for his flat reliefs and negative reliefs in biscuit or Celadon-glazed porcelain. His use of light in these designs made them some of the most interesting innovations to emerge from the manufactory in the 20th century.
