A Berlin KPM porcelain allegorical figure of Fame

A monumentally conceived figure of a female allegory of fame with a trumpet seated on a reed and acanthus clasped column base. Blue sceptre mark, incised C.M., painter's mark to the inside of the base. H 25.2 cm.
Circa 1770 - 80, modelled by Friedrich Elias Meyer, 1768.

Friedrich Elias Meyer originally designed these allegorical figures for a large chandelier which Frederick II commissioned for the Neue Palais in Potsdam, and which is recorded in an invoice of 17.12.1768. The individual figures on round bases must have been modelled shortly after.
