A Berlin KPM Munich-form vase No. 2

Fired in two parts and screw-mounted. Decorated with a finely painted floral garland and opulently gilt. Blue sceptre mark, incised II. One handle reattached (possibly done in the manufactory after firing). H 59.3 cm.
Ca. 1838, the gilt decor by Johann Heinrich Strack and the floral decor attributed to Friedrich Wilhelm Völker.

This vase possibly originates from a service made for Princesses Louise and Caroline of Mecklenburg-Strelitz that is recorded in the royal account books on 6th June 1838. The Grand Duke received an identically decorated vase in the 3rd Munich form, which can be seen as the central piece in the set.
