A platinum and sapphire cluster ring

Set with an oval sapphire of ca. 3.29ct (9.50 x 7.78 x 4.23 mm, very fine deep blue Kashmir colour) surrounded by 12 brilliant-cut diamonds (ca. 1,20 ct, H/I, vvs). With indistinct marks, including fineness Pt950. Bezel 1.7 x 1.5 cm. Ring size 53. Weight 8.4 g.
Presumably 1960s.

Certificate

With gemstone assay report no. 196505131 from the IGI in Antwerp, dated 27.01.2016, confirming the stone to be a natural corundum of the sapphire variety with natural inclusions and no traces of treatment. Origin: Presumably Kashmir ("Opinion of origin Kashmir-like"). Commentary: Extra fine colour quality.
