A rare Meissen porcelain candlestick with Arita style decor

Of moulded Baroque form, decorated with red dragons winding around bamboo stems. Blue crossed swords mark with blue dash, unidentified former's mark in the manner of an astrological symbol. Restoration over a crack or breakage to the centre, visible under UV light. H 24 cm.

A pair of identical candlesticks in the Rijksmuserum Amsterdam (in: den Blaauwen, Amsterdam 2000, no. 152).
Similar decor with a blue dragon-like creature in a five-piece set of vases in the Stiftung Ernst Scheider (Weber, vol. II, Munich 2013, no. 468).
