A stag antler obi-hasami netsuke of a long-legged monkey, by Kokusai. Second half 19th century

The round head looking up and with a large open mouth, the right hand placed over the left fist which can be used as a cord hole, the feet coyly placed over each other. Sealed Koku in a sunken reserve. Together with a carnelian ojime. (2)
