An early Flemish tapestry with a banquet scene

An unusually realistic and detailed depiction of six people feasting, possibly as a seasonal allegory. With a view into the kitchen in the left background, a buffet with opulent wares on the right, two pilgrim's flasks in the foreground and a dog gnawing on a bone under the table. Monogrammed AP (poss. for Arnold Poissonier) to the hood of the man on the right. Backed, old repairs, borders reattached. 235 x 408 cm.
Flanders, probably Brussels or Tournai / Doornik, 1st half 16th C.
