A rare Russian porcelain slop bowl

With gilt biscuit porcelain appliques on crimson ground. Unmarked, incised 6. H 9.4, D 18.3 cm.
Attributed to Imperial Porcelain Manufactory St Petersburg, 1st half 19th C.

This bowl may originate from the service created from 1809 - 1917 for the Imperial Finance Minister Count Dmitri Aleksandrovitch Gouriev (1758 - 1825) encompassing 4,500 pieces. The service is decorated with detailed and life-like depictions of the ethnic groups of Russia in their traditional costume to the plates and with richly varied gilt ornament.
