With this drawing, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner comes close to the final version of the large painting 'Bogenschützen', 1935-1937, 195 x 150 cm (Gordon 994). Kirchner was an enthusiastic archer and pursued this sport together with his wife Erna Schilling."
