'The speed of the movement, often composed of small particles, makes colour appear as light, opening up a pictorial space in a flash of light that goes beyond visible reality. The space to be physically experienced by the viewer penetrates a cosmic depth, in which the core of these energy fields is blown apart, the particles fly around in charged tension, standing together as a vibrating force field only for a moment. Hartung has always tried to demonstrate the quality of the appearance as the mental power of the image in which colour and gesture permeate each other and cease to be pure elements of the pictorial order. Here, the evocative energy of colour is directed to a suspected area behind the pictorial space, inviting the viewer to enter these areas, to traverse them and penetrate the vision of the mystery of life.'
